FEES & HOW YOU CAN HELP

Admission is is not based on a patients Ability to Pay

Many people ask how much hospice care will cost them.  Unfortunately many are hesitant to contact High Peaks Hospice and Palliative Care for fear that 1) they will be rejected due to inability to pay or 2) because they don’t think that their insurance will pay for hospice care.

No One is Refused Care Due to Inability to Pay

Today Medicare, Medicaid, as well as many private health insurance carriers and HMOs  reimburse about 70% of “Hospice Services” expenses.  What about the individuals without health insurance coverage?  Any individual whose illness makes him or her appropriate for hospice care will be admitted to the program regardless of ability to pay.

How Can High Peaks Hospice and Palliative Care afford to do this?

The challenges for small not-for-profits are great.  To cover these expenses High Peaks Hospice relies on the generosity of private individuals and community support.

How Can YOU Make a Difference?

  • Volunteer!    Help by Doing.  For each volunteer who offers his or her services money is saved that can then be used for direct patient care.
